How Laptop Rental Works: Step by Step from First Inquiry to Device in Hand
A lot of people call us and open with: „OK, so how does this actually work?“ Fair question — if you’ve never rented a laptop before, it’s not obvious what happens between the moment you send a message and the moment the device is sitting on your desk. So we sat down and wrote out the whole process exactly as it runs here, no gloss. Five steps, plus answers to the questions we hear almost every day.
What laptop rental is and who it’s for
Renting a laptop means you use the device for a set period, pay only for that time, and return it when you’re done. You don’t buy anything, you’re not tied to one model forever, and you don’t have to wonder what you’ll do with it a year from now. Renting makes sense in more situations than people think.
- Companies — when a new hire starts a trial period, when you need an extra machine for a project lasting a few months, or when your accountant needs a device just for the year-end closing.
- Students — during exams, while writing a thesis, or on an internship — when you need a serious laptop for a few weeks and buying one just isn’t worth it.
- Events — conferences, presentations, training sessions, trade-fair booths. You need five units for three days and that’s the end of the story.
- As a replacement device while your own laptop is in for repair. No reason to put work on hold because you’re waiting for a spare part.
If you recognize yourself in any of these, the rest of this article is for you.
Step 1 — Send an inquiry and tell us how long you need it
Everything starts with a message. You can fill out the „Send a rental inquiry“ form on any device page, reach us on WhatsApp or Viber, or simply give us a call. Whatever is easiest for you.
What helps us most in that first contact is if you tell us two things right away: what you need the laptop for and for how long. It doesn’t have to be detailed — „I need it for office work for a month“ or „five units for a training, three days“ is plenty. From that alone we already know which direction to go, and we don’t waste time on the wrong models.
Step 2 — We suggest a model based on use and budget, and agree on the period
Once we know what it’s for, we choose together. For everyday office tasks, email and spreadsheets it’s one kind of pick; for demanding software or heavy processing it’s quite another. We also keep your budget in mind — there’s no point paying for a more powerful machine than you actually need.
This is also where we agree on the period and the rental rates. Prices vary by rental length — the longer you rent, the cheaper it gets per day. You can see the exact amounts in the rental price table on every device page, so you always know where you stand before anything gets signed. If you’re not sure what suits you, feel free to browse the categories: business laptops for companies, student laptops for university, gaming laptops or workstations for more demanding work.
Step 3 — Deposit, ID card and rental agreement: why they exist and how they protect both sides
This is the part people ask about most, so let’s be upfront. A rental involves three things: a deposit, a look at your ID card, and a rental agreement.
- The deposit is a refundable amount you get back when you return the device in working order. It’s not a charge — it’s a safeguard. It protects us if the device gets damaged or never comes back, and it gives you a clear deal: return the laptop the way you took it, and you get your deposit back.
- The ID card is so we know who we’re making an agreement with. We’re handing a valuable device to someone we’ve just met — you’d want to know who’s on the other side too.
- The agreement spells out, in black and white, which device, for what period, at what price and under what terms. It protects both sides equally. If anything goes differently than agreed, there’s a document both sides can point to.
All of this exists so the deal is fair and both you and we can relax. The rental terms aren’t there to complicate things — they’re there so everyone knows exactly where they stand.
Step 4 — Pick up at one of our 3 stores in Belgrade, or courier delivery
Once everything is agreed, it’s handover time. We have three locations in Belgrade, so you pick whichever is closest and collect the device there. Before you take it away, we check it together — so you can see everything is in order and we know exactly what condition it left in.
If coming in doesn’t suit you, we’ll send it by courier. Handy for companies taking several units, or for anyone who’d rather not spend time on the trip. We arrange delivery details in the same step where we choose the model.
Step 5 — Extending, returning the device and getting your deposit back
When the period ends, you have two options. If you still need the laptop, just get in touch and we extend the rental — no need to return it and pick it up again, it simply continues at the agreed price.
If you’re done, you return the device to the store or a courier picks it up, whichever is easier for you. We check that everything is as it should be, and that’s the end of it. Once the device is back in working order and on time, your deposit is refunded. No dragging it out, and no fine print you didn’t know about upfront.
Frequently asked questions about renting
- What’s the shortest rental? Periods start from one day and go up from there. Need a laptop for a single presentation — that works too.
- And the longest? Up to several months, no problem. Companies often rent long-term and extend as needed.
- What if something breaks on its own? If it’s a fault with the device rather than damage from handling, we take care of it. That’s why we’re a repair shop, not just a rental business.
- Can I switch models mid-rental? Get in touch and we’ll see — if we have something that suits you better, we’ll arrange a swap.
- Is the deposit always refunded? Yes, when the device is returned in working order and on time. That’s the whole point of a deposit.
