Gaming Laptop Rental: The Answer for Tournaments, LANs and Short-Term Gaming
Why rent a gaming laptop instead of buying one for a single event
We see the same story in our store almost every season. Someone comes in ahead of a tournament, they need a machine that can properly run their game, but they don’t want to drop serious money on a powerful gaming laptop that will just gather dust afterwards. And that makes complete sense. If you need a laptop for one weekend, for a LAN with friends or for a short project, buying is a big expense for something you’ll use for a couple of days.
That’s where rental comes in. Renting a gaming laptop means you get a machine ready to game exactly when you need it, you pay only for the period you use, and you return it when you’re done. No stressing over next year’s model being more powerful, no reselling second-hand gear, no wondering what to do with it once the tournament is over.
A practical example: someone plays seriously two or three times a year at meetups. There’s no logic in keeping an expensive machine at home. They rent a gaming laptop for those days and that’s it. The cost is clear up front, and the machine is fresh and tested.
For tournaments and LAN parties — when you need stronger graphics and a fast display
Not every laptop is up to a tournament or a LAN. Here you really need a machine that can pull its weight. When someone asks for a tournament laptop, we look at three things first: the graphics card, the display and the cooling.
- Dedicated graphics card — without it there’s no decent fps in demanding titles. Integrated graphics are for office work, not competitive play.
- Fast display with a high refresh rate — in fast-paced games you can feel the difference between 60 Hz and 120/144 Hz. The picture is smoother, and in a competitive setting that’s no small thing.
- Enough RAM and an SSD — so the game loads quickly and there’s no stuttering mid-match.
At a LAN party it also matters that the machine stays reliable all day long. Nobody wants their laptop to start choking halfway through a tournament because it’s overheating. That’s why with the stronger models we always check that the cooling is working properly before we hand the machine over. If you’re not sure which model is powerful enough for what you play, tell us what and how you play and we’ll pick something together from the available lineup.
Streaming and content creators — a short project without a big investment
Rental isn’t just for gamers. We often hear from people who create content — recording gameplay, editing, streaming an event or running a campaign that lasts a week or two. For a short project like that there’s no need to invest in an expensive machine that has no purpose once the project ends.
A stronger gaming configuration works well here because both streaming and editing love a powerful processor and graphics card. You take the laptop for the length of the project, get the job done, return the machine. If you need something for heavier processing and rendering over a longer period, there’s also our workstation category — machines built specifically for heavy workloads.
For lighter tasks — say you need an extra laptop for writing, emails and organizing things around the event — there’s no need for a gaming machine. Our business laptops or models from the student category handle that just fine — they’re cheaper to rent and cover all the basics without a hitch.
What to look out for: graphics card, cooling, screen refresh rate
When choosing a gaming laptop to rent, don’t just look at the model name. Here’s what’s worth paying attention to, exactly the way we’d advise a customer standing in front of us:
- Graphics card — it does most of the work in a game. Tell us which games you play and at what settings so we can suggest a model that actually runs them, instead of one where the game stutters.
- Cooling — a stronger machine runs hotter. Good airflow and clean fans mean stable performance all day. We check and clean every machine before it goes out.
- Screen refresh rate — for fast games, look for a panel with a higher Hz. For slower titles and editing it’s less critical.
- Ports and accessories — if you’re bringing your own mouse, keyboard or an external monitor to the tournament, make sure the laptop has everything you need.
You don’t have to know all of this by heart. That’s what we’re here for — tell us what you play and how long you need it, and we’ll suggest a machine that covers it.
Rental period: a weekend, a week or longer — we arrange it as needed
We tailor the rental period to what you need. Some people only need a weekend for a tournament, some need a full week for a project, and some take a machine for longer. The daily rental price depends on the model and the length of the period, and you’ll see the exact figure on each laptop’s page or get it in the reply to your inquiry. We don’t make up prices off the top of our heads over the phone — you always get a clear quote up front.
We have three locations in Belgrade, so pickup and return are simple. It’s best to contact us a few days in advance, especially for the more powerful machines and ahead of big tournaments, because those go first.
FAQ: deposit for high-end machines, pickup before the tournament, returns
Is there a deposit for a gaming laptop?
For the more powerful machines we usually ask for a deposit, since they’re worth more than standard laptops. The deposit is refunded when you return the laptop in good condition. We agree on the deposit details at booking, so everything is clear up front.
When should I pick up the laptop before the tournament?
Ideally a day early. That gives you time to install your games, set up your accounts and check that everything works properly before the competition starts. Nobody likes configuring a machine five minutes before their first match.
How does the return work?
You return the laptop within the agreed period to any of our locations. We check that everything is in order and your deposit is refunded. If you end up playing longer and need the machine a few days more, just get in touch — that’s usually easy to sort out.
