Laptop Rental or Leasing — What Actually Pays Off for Your Company?
A company calls us and asks: „Should we lease our laptops or rent them from you?“ It’s a good question, and the answer isn’t the same for everyone. We’ve been renting laptops for years and we’ve seen both scenarios play out — cases where renting spares you a headache, and cases where buying is the smarter move. Here’s how we explain it to clients, no sales fluff.
Three ways a company can get laptops
Buying (or buying on installments) — the equipment is yours. You take care of servicing, warranty, and replacement when it gets outdated. When you no longer need it, it just sits there.
Leasing — a long-term commitment through a leasing company, with an approval procedure and paperwork. For leasing terms, ask a leasing company — that’s not our line of work and we don’t give financial advice.
Renting — you take a laptop for a day, a week or a month. When you no longer need it, you return it. No long-term tie-in, no buyout, no worrying about servicing — that’s our job.
The key difference: commitment
Leasing and buying on installments are commitments that last. They make sense when you know for sure you’ll need the equipment for years and will use it every day. Renting is the opposite — you pay only for the period you actually need. With us, the daily rate drops as the period gets longer: there are tiers for 1-2 days, 3-7, 8-15, 16-30 days and monthly rental. The exact price is listed on each laptop’s page and in the public rental price list — we hide nothing.
When renting makes sense
- A project with a deadline. A team for a few months — after the project, you don’t need the equipment.
- A new employee on a trial period. You don’t buy a laptop before you know whether the person is staying.
- Training sessions, presentations, events. A pile of identical machines for a day or two — nobody buys for that. We have a dedicated page for it: laptops for events.
- Bridging the gap. You’ve ordered equipment that’s running late, and the work won’t wait.
- A seasonal spike. Scale the team up on rentals, return the equipment when the season ends.
For situations like these, take a look at laptop rental for companies. Companies get a rental agreement and an invoice from us, payment goes by bank transfer, and the only documents we need are your tax ID and company registration number.
When buying is the smarter move
Let’s be honest: if you use a laptop every day, for years, for the same job — buying pays off in the end. Renting is no substitute for core equipment you hammer on for years. We’ve broken this down in more detail in our guide renting vs. buying a laptop, so compare it with your own situation.
How renting works in practice
It’s simple: pick a model from our business laptops or workstations category, send an inquiry through the form on the laptop’s page or call +381 63 8615 186 (Viber and WhatsApp work too). Pick up at one of our three stores in Belgrade (locations) or have it shipped by courier anywhere in Serbia. We sign a rental agreement, you leave a refundable deposit which we return when the equipment comes back in working order. Need it longer? We handle extensions with a simple agreement, no drama. We’ve described the whole process step by step in our guide how laptop rental works.
Why rent from us
Behind the rental service stands the BG Computers repair shop — servicing and rental under the same roof. Every laptop passes through our hands before it goes out: cleaned, tested, set up, with a guarantee that it works. If something goes wrong, you’re not calling a call center — you’re calling the technicians who prepared the machine. And if your own laptop is in for repair, you can get a replacement laptop from us for as long as the repair takes — so your business doesn’t stop.
In short
- Renting — flexibility, short and medium periods, zero worry about the equipment.
- Leasing — a long-term commitment, a question for a leasing company.
- Buying — when you use the equipment every day, for years.
Not sure which one is right for you? Call +381 63 8615 186 or send an inquiry — we’ll tell you honestly, even when the answer is „buy one.“
